WELCOME TO NORTHWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Dear Northwood Families,

I am excited to about another year at Northwood.  I know the Northwood staff looks forward to working with all of our students this year.  My past experience has shown me that it takes a team to help all learners reach their maximum potential.  Northwood staff members are committed to working collaboratively with our parents to provide an academic program where all learners can be successful.

Again this year we will be working with our students on Growth Mindset. We are working to make sure each child realizes he/she can grow academically.   Please see the section on this page which contains information regarding this.

I am confident that this will be an outstanding school year and look forward to working with the staff and community to continue the Northwood tradition of academic excellence!  Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call at 937-578-7100.

Sincerely,
Karen Wells
Northwood Principal
Crayons to College and Careers
Northwood is beginning our Crayons to College and Careers program this winter.  Our vision is for all students to achieve success and happiness in all endeavors, including personal relationships and future educational and career choices.  The elementary level is the best place to begin building students' foundation for future career successes.  This is the time to get them excited about the possibilities and to teach them how that is dependent on current academic and behavior choices.  The Crayons to College and  Careers program is designed to teach elementary students a variety of positive attributes that will help them, and ultimately better prepare them to enter the job market or college.  Each week we will be discussing a different character trait.
