MissionThe mission of Marysville Schools Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and competition opportunities for children with intellectual disabilities.
BenefitsSpecial Olympics contributes to the physical, social, and psychological development of the athletes. Through successful experiences in sports, they gain confidence and build a positive self-image which carries over into the classroom, home, job and community.
EligibilityAthletes must be at least 8 years of age and indentified by an agency or professional as having a developmental disability that prevents him/or her from participating in regular sporting activities.
VolunteersThis organization is run almost entirely by volunteers. No experience necessary and volunteers are always needed.
CompetitionsSpecial Olympics provides year-round competition opportunities for the athletes at the local, area and state levels.
