School Counselor at Northwood Elementary
Mrs. Aslaner is the K-4 school counselor at Northwood Elementary. She has been the school counselor at Northwood Elementary for 15 years.

Mrs. Aslaner is available Monday (AM Only), & Tuesday - Friday. She also shares responsibility at Navin Elementary on Monday afternoon.
Community Resources:
Blessings in a Backpack Program - If your child is enrolled in the free or reduced lunch program, they are eligible for the Blessings in a Backpack program. Your child would receive a bag of non-perishable food every Friday during the school year in a discreet and caring manner to bring home. There is no cost associated with this program. If you wish for your child to participate in the program, please contact the Northwood Office or Mrs. Aslaner.
Northwood School Navigator - Krystal Null. Please contact your School Counselor if you are interested in being referred to the School Navigator.
Krystal is our on-site social worker contracted from Maryhaven, who can assist students and families with mental health/behavioral concerns.
Krystal can complete a Screening, Brief Intervention, Safety Plan, and Referral to Treatment to allow for identification of the Level of Care needed with parental consent.
Krystal can provide crisis support to students having behavioral health crises who do not need medical attention.
Krystal can link families to community resources for needs that have been identified, support the youth and family in implementing interventions they may have learning in therapy sessions, and visit the youth and family in natural environments (home, community, school) to offer support in the implementation of plans and interventions.
