Marysville Receives Momentum Award for Student Growth
Marysville Schools was recently awarded the Ohio Department of Education Momentum Award for exceeding expectations in student growth. This achievement is given to a select group of school districts that have received A’s on every value-added measure included on the 2016 Ohio School Report Cards.

“Growth is the most important measurement of academic success,” stated Superintendent Diane Mankins. “We are so proud of our students and teachers for this amazing achievement.”

Since the establishment of the strategic plan in 2014, the district has focused on programs and teaching methods that maximize growth and individualized learning for students.

“Our staff has embraced the “growth mindset,” where we encourage students to challenge themselves,” added Mankins. “Through their hard work and dedication, students develop resilience, are encouraged by their progress, and develop a lifelong love of learning.”

While Marysville Schools is pleased with this result on the state report card, the district also recognizes that value-added and student progress are just one part of the many measures that make our schools excellent.

“Soon, we will be releasing our third annual Quality Profile,” stated Mankins. “It is our opportunity to share with residents what goes into a Marysville Schools education beyond just test scores, and how we offer many opportunities for students to build life skills and experiences that will better prepare them for life after school.”

The Quality Profile will be mailed to residents in January.
