Jeff Gafford- Head Coach |

Coach Gafford is entering his
2nd year as Head Coach at Marysville. Last year he led the Monarchs
to a 5-5 record and a share of the OCC Central Division title. Gafford
has compiled a 147-98-1 record as a head coach.
Before coming to Marysville, Coach Gafford served as
the head coach at Worthington Kilbourne High School from 1991-2005.
During that time period his teams won 4 OCC Championships and were in
the state playoffs 6 times, the most recent in 2005. His teams were
regional runner up in 1997 as well as 2005 and were regional champions
in 1999 and 2004. He was named the Associated Press State of Ohio and
the Columbus Dispatch Agonis Club Division I Coach of the Year Award in
1997. Prior to coaching at Kilbourne, he served as head coach at
Franklin Heights High School from 1984-1991. While at Franklin
Heights, his teams won 1 OCC Championship and had one playoff
appearance. |

Mike Cottrill-
Offensive Coordinator |

Mike Cottrill is entering
his 27th season of coaching high school football and his second here
at Marysville. Coach Cottrill is a graduate of Westland High School
where he played quarterback and captained the 1980 team. While at
Westland, Coach Cottrill played for, and eventually coached with
Jeff Gafford. He began coaching at Westland in 1982 and was
elevated to the position of Offensive Coordinator in 1985. Coach
Cottrill joined his friend and mentor, Coach Gafford, as Offensive
Coordinator at Franklin Heights in 1987. While there, the Falcons
won one OCC title and made a state playoff appearance following a
perfect 10-0 1989 season. In 1991, Coach Cottrill accompanied Coach
Gafford and helped build the football program at newly opened
Worthington Kilbourne High School. While serving as Offensive
Coordinator at Kilbourne, the Wolves won four OCC championships and
made state playoff appearances six times. Kilbourne played in four
regional finals, winning two of them, one in 1999 and the other in
2004. Coach Cottrill was awarded the honor of being named Region 10
Assistant Football Coach of the Year following the 2005 season.
Coach Cottrill is married to Yolanda Cottrill and they have two
children: six year old daughter Samantha and four year old son Joey. |

Fleming- Co-Defensive Coordinator |
| Coach Fleming
returns to the Varsity staff after serving 8 years as the MHS
Freshmen Coach. He was an assistant coach for two years at Heath
before beginning a five-year stint as head coach at Zanesville
Rosecrans. He moved back to the central Ohio area and spent five
years at Hebron Lakewood, two as defensive coordinator and three
as head coach. After a year’s stint as defensive coordinator at
Big Walnut, Fleming returned to Marysville High School in 1997
and was on Rich Weiskircher’s varsity staff before taking over
the freshman program. Fleming is a 1979 MHS graduate and played
offensive tackle and defensive end for the Monarchs before going
on to play at West Liberty State in West Virginia. |

Aaron
Rossi is starting his 13th season coaching football. Coach
Rossi started his coaching career at Mt. San Jacinto Junior
College in Southern California. Coach Rossi coached at MSJC
two years. He then coached at San Bernardino Valley JC for
four years. He then moved to the high schools ranks and
coached one year at Fontana High School and then spent three
years as the Offensive Coordinator at Hemet HS. At Hemet,
Coach Rossi's QB Brandis Dew led the state of California in
pass efficiency and threw for 42 tochdowns in the 2003
football season. Coach Rossi played college football at
MSJC for two years and then received a scholarship to Fort
Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Coach Rossi is married
to Audrey Rossi and has three daughters, Lindsay, Paige, and
Emily.
