You excel. You serve. You lead. You succeed. You have a true thirst for challenge … and accomplishment. Membership in National Honor Society (NHS) may be an ideal fit for you!

Ms. Everitt is the local ECHS chapter advisor, and the selection process for membership begins with a meeting in the Spring of Junior year. To be eligible for membership in the Marysville Early College High School chapter of the National Honor Society a candidate must be a member of the junior or senior class, and maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 3.499 on a weighted scale. Students must also be registered, and take 5 academic credits their senior year.

All applicants who are eligible for membership will be evaluated by the Faculty Council on the basis of service, leadership, and character. To assess these virtues, the Faculty Council will require that each applicant submit three letters of recommendation from one teacher and two from members of the community or activity advisors. Students must also submit a character essay, and complete the requirements on the activity forms. The applicants will be evaluated on a 4.0 scale by faculty and staff for leadership and character. The Faculty Council will make the final decisions for student admittance to NHS.

Through exclusive resources, programs, and services, members have a unique opportunity to prepare for college and career pursuits. Membership truly lays the groundwork for lifelong success. Look for information on Schoology or the digital bulletin boards about membership deadlines.
